The governor El-Rufai-led administration has allegedly destroyed all properties belonging to the movement in the state in a bid to put an end to Islamic Movement in Kaduna state.

The minority Muslims' acquired properties in the state were destroyed last week, including Zakzaky's house and the Husainiyyah center , News Rescue reports .

Over sixty graves were exhumed yesterday, December 23 in the ongoing persecution.

Government agents and soldiers then went back to the Shuhada cemetery and completely destroyed it . The graves of Ayatullah Zakzaky's sons which were allegedly killed last year by the Jonathan government were among the destroyed .

I felicitate with all Nigerians, especially our Christian brothers and sisters, on the joyous occasion of this year's Christmas.On this occasion of the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, let us all rededicate ourselves to the virtues of peace, love, honesty, justice, equity, piety, humility and service to others which he taught.

There can be no doubt that a greater manifestation of these virtues and ideals in our lives will immensely help us to become a more united, peaceful, secure and progressive nation.
Let us also reach out in love and compassion to fellow Nigerians who are in distress at this period of our nation's history.

I particularly urge you all to remember victims of terrorism and insurgency in the country, especially Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

The Federal Government will continue to collaborate with state governments and other stakeholders to ease the harsh conditions in IDP camps, while the ultimate objective remains to quickly put an end to insurgency and return the IDPs to their homes.

We must never again allow any group to hold the nation to ransom under whatever guise.
Let us also not allow current socio-economic and security challenges to dampen our expectations for a better Nigeria.

This administration has taken a number of measures to restore hope to our people. The 2016 Budget defines our commitment to giving Nigeria a new lease of life.Our change slogan is not a campaign gimmick but a promise that must be kept. We are determined to bring about tangible changes in the lives of our people.

In this regard, efforts will be intensified to recover stolen funds, block revenue leakages and enthrone due process, transparency and accountability.

Public office is a public trust that must be held to the highest ethical standards.
I wish all Nigerians a Merry Christmas.
Please drive carefully.

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney knows very well that his club are in a precarious situation which could lead to Van Gaal's sack and admits the team needs to improve .

Speaking to Sky Sports, the United captain said:

'In the last few weeks results haven't been great for us and its been frustrating as a player to deal with. We have to be strong and stay together to get the results that we need. Obviously, there are a lot of people talking about things they believe are happening when in reality people writing that stuff and don't really know what's happening. We are working hard, we are fighting for the manager to try and turn the season around. It's important we all stick together.

'It's not nice when yore getting criticised after every game. It's tough for the players to deal with but we are proud to play for Manchester United - and when it's not going right its hard to take. The way the last few weeks have gone, it's not the way we wanted it to go but we are working hard to try and make things right and hopefully we can do that,' he added.

'As a group of players we know that we can do better. We regularly have meetings with the players, myself and the other senior players... and with the manager as well,' he said.
'We are all working together trying to come up with he best solution to try and win football matches. I think that's normal in a club like this.'

Manchester United will play Stoke away on Saturday and will host Chelsea on Monday (Dec. 28) . If the Red Devils should loose then Van Gaal could face an inevitable sack !

13-time world champion and WWE legend Triple H has declared himself a West Ham supporter. Tripple H who is also an executive vice president of WWE says he believes the Hammers are the team that come closest to representing his sport's values.

'West Ham is probably the closest to what we do, with the passion of their fanbase and their loyalty, right? That's the closest to what we do,' he told ITV News.

When asked which current West Ham player has the best attributes to make it as a wrestler, Triple H tipped England international Carroll as the chosen one !

'Maybe a player like Andy Carroll!' he said. 'He is tall, likes to play it tough with the opposition and has the right looks with the long hair. He could be interesting!'

Leadership has confirmed that supporters of ex-President of Nigeria , Goodluck Jonathan have unveiled plans to float a new mega party after they decided to pull out from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The spokesman of the proposed new party, Chief Perry Opara , Nigeria's first national chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) , who confirmed this said that a meeting which was held in respect to the formation of the new mega party, attracted reasonable turnout and members canvassed the formation of a masses movement that will provide a voice for the masses, since PDP can no longer be a credible opposition party. He said :

"The leadership of the party is embroiled with corruption charges, a situation where BOT Chairman, NWC members and top leaders of the party are facing corruption charges, credible men can no longer remain in a stinking house.

"I assure Nigerians that as the probe continues, it will be difficult for leaders and members of PDP to visit Wadata Plaza. PDP has become a symbol of corruption, impunity and lawlessness. It will be difficult for PDP to win future elections in Nigeria.In the last election, party functionaries striped aspirants of their hard -earned monies. Some aspirants spent more than N500 million just to get party ticket and after collecting huge sums from aspirants, they still denied them tickets. What a fraud.

"We have identified few elders who are credible enough to lead and they will be identified in due course."

The Lagos State Government, through LAGBUS and its Franchisees, will provide Free Bus Ride to Lagosians on Friday 25 December, 2015, to commemorate this Year's Christmas celebration.
This move is aimed at promoting the use of public transportation, as well as reducing congestion on Lagos roads during the festivities.

According to the release signed by the Managing Director of LAGBUS, Mr. Idowu Oguntona, the Free Bus ride will be provided on all LAGBUS routes across the metropolis within normal operational hours (6:00a.m – 10:00p.m) on Friday 25 December, 2015.

While imploring Lagosians to take the opportunity of the free bus service provided by the State Government, Oguntona appealed to motorists not to drink and drive so as to prevent avoidable accidents during festivities. He however thanked all Lagosians for their patronage during the year and wished them a Merry Christmas.

Amaechi reveals National transportation master plan

According to the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, the Federal Government is developing a national transportation master plan to diversify the economy and improve on non-oil sector revenues .

Amaechi, who spoke yesterday at a briefing after a tour of facilities at the Lagos airport, said the master plan would reduce unemployment and develop the rural economy.

He added that the government was determined to fully exploit the potentials of the transport sector by opening it up for new investment. The former River State governor pointed out the sector's problems as including bad roads, inadequate fleet, airplane services and congested ports .He said:

"The government of President Muhammadu Buhari is in the process of developing a national transportation master plan that will be implemented as a fulfillment of one of his campaign promises to diversify the national economy while improving non-oil revenues.

"While reducing dependence on oil revenues, it will also develop the rural economy, reduce unemployment and urban drift.The problems of Nigerian transport system include bad roads, inadequate fleet of buses and trucks; irregular and inadequate trains and airplanes services and congested ports."

"The Buhari administration is determined to fully exploit the potentials in the transportation sector. As a first step, the government will pursue the enactment of legislation that will open up the sector to new investments that will lead to economic prosperity," he said.

Amaechi also revealed plans to re-introduce rail lines that would assist in the movement of petroleum products by next year. He said investment in rail transportation could generate over 250,000 direct jobs .

The minister said: "The movement of petroleum products by rail will be re-introduced in 2016. As you are aware, we have commenced and almost completed the narrow gauge rehabilitation which will be retained for the movement of cargoes.

"At the same time, massive investment into the standard gauge to link most parts of the country with faster trains for passenger movements has begun. In 2016, we hope to complete work on the Abuja-Kaduna railway line as Mr. President is highly committed to it. Work will start in earnest on the standard gauge on many routes ."

On aviation, Amaechi said :

He said: "The ministry of transportation in collaboration with relevant parastatals and agencies has drawn up short term plans that are currently being implemented, of which the travelling public will take notice of the improvements in the not distant future.

"These plans include the expeditious completion of ongoing airports remodeling projects at Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Port Harcourt and the decongestion of airports access roads among several others. The new terminal in Lagos will generate additional 15 million passengers annually, making a total of 30 million passengers yearly nationwide.

"The medium and long term plans will require significant investments to upgrade and expand infrastructure to meet current and future requirements

"As a result of limited resources for capital projects development, government is exploring the possibility of private sector participation to towards the realisation of the industries' potentials.

"The Ministerial Committee on the National Airline has submitted its report to the President, which the government is studying carefully and will announce its decision in due course.

"In June of this year, Nigeria scored 96.44 per cent during the International Civil Aviation Security Audit. Despite this feat, the nation can ill afford to let its guards down considering recent events in the international scene, where passenger airplanes have been blown out of the skies.
"Subsequently in accordance with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP) and International Aviation Organisation (ICAO) annex 17, the Federal Government is looking to overhaul and streamline the security apparatus at the nation's airports for a seamless and more effective security surveillance and enforcement. This will also improve facilitation and passengers' experience."

The Nigerian military is close to completely defeating Islamist Boko Haram militants, President Muhammadu Buhari has told the BBC.

He said the militants could no longer mount conventional attacks against security forces or population centres.

"I think, technically, we have won the war," he said.

The president has given the army until the end of the month to defeat Boko Haram, whose six-year insurgency has devastated north-eastern Nigeria.

But the BBC's Bashir Sa'ad Abdullahi in the capital, Abuja, says that the deadline is likely to be extended as Boko Haram is still bombing areas despite losing towns under its control.

Critics of the government argue that it has exaggerated the scale of its success against the militants, and that each time the army claims to have wiped out Boko Haram, the militants have quietly rebuilt.

The insurgency is said to have killed some 17,000 people and left more than two million homeless.

The jihadists have been forced to cut back on suicide bombings as a result of the military action against them, President Buhari said.

"Boko Haram has reverted to using improvised explosive devices (IEDs)," he said. "They have now been reduced to that.Boko Haram is an organised fighting force, I assure you, [but] we have dealt with them."

He said the militants had all but been driven out from Adamawa and Yobe states and remained a force only in its heartland of Borno state.

"They cannot now marshal forces and attack towns or attack military installations and so on as they did before. I don't think this is mad talking."

The president said that Nigeria had reorganised and reequipped the military. which had received training from the British, the Americans and the French.
